La exposición “Congreso Anfictiónico en Panamá: 200 años” reúne una selección de carteles de artistas internacionales que conmemoran el histórico encuentro convocado por Simón Bolívar en 1826. A través de un lenguaje visual contemporáneo, los carteles evocan la memoria de aquel proyecto de unidad continental, resaltan el papel de Panamá como sede y dialogan con los desafíos actuales de integración latinoamericana. La muestra propone un recorrido simbólico donde arte y política se entrelazan, invitando al público a reflexionar sobre el legado y vigencia de los ideales bolivarianos en el presente.
The exhibition “Amphictyonic Congress in Panama: 200 Years” brings together a selection of posters by international artists commemorating the historic meeting convened by Simón Bolívar in 1826. Through a contemporary visual language, the posters evoke the memory of that project for continental unity, highlight Panama's role as host city, and engage with the current challenges of Latin American integration. The exhibition proposes a symbolic journey where art and politics intertwine, inviting the public to reflect on the legacy and enduring relevance of Bolivarian ideals today.
The Panamanian institutions involved in this exhibition are: the University of Panama through the University of Panama Library System (SIBIUP), the Vice-Rectorate for Extension, the Directorate of Culture, and the Manuel E. Amador Gallery of the University of Panama, as well as the Panama Poster Group.
The international participating institution is the Embassy of Mexico in Panama.
